Sukošan is a town in northern Dalmatia, placed in the large bay of Zlatna luka (Golden Port). It is a place of quiet and spacious beaches and secluded coves, with a clean, crystalline sea, surrounded by islands that extend toward the National Park Kornati. Sukošan has a large marina, the largest on the Croatian coast of the Adriatic Sea with 1200 berths in the sea and more than 500 berths on land. The marina is very well equipped and offers many services. The exceptional location and reserve it enjoys make it an important reference point for navigators who sail the Adriatic Sea. The town centre is characterized by typical narrow streets, stone houses and restaurants and taverns. On the other hand, Sukosan is considered to be the centre of song and wine. During the summer it offers a rich program of entertainment and there are also numerous cultural events that are organized. A great number of festivals, parties, musical evenings, and the popular donkey race, which hosts up to ten thousand spectators, are organised during the summer. Sukošan boasts beautiful sandy beaches, one of which is nicknamed “the Paradise of children” for its accessibility and practicality. Sukošan is situated in a privileged central location in the dalmatian coast from which you can reach not only all the islands of the central Adriatic Sea, but also the historic towns and urban areas of Zadar, Split and Šibenik which are really worth visiting during the bustling summer season.
